The Chemistry Syllabus, Broken Down
The 2025 course is built on two ideas: Structure and Reactivity. Here's how it breaks down, and where students most need support.
The Chemistry guide was rewritten for first teaching in 2023 and first examined in May 2025. It is structured around two organising concepts, Structure and Reactivity, with the old option topics removed and key content folded into the core. The course develops both theory and practical investigation, with SL and HL routes and a 20% internal investigation.
